This course will enhance student's capacity to critically evaluate and reflect on academic texts. The students will examine how authors persuade their readers and how they present arguments. Along with developing their own arguments, they will also learn how to critically evaluate arguments. After completing this course, the student will be able to: 75% accurately describe the main points and supporting details in academic and newspaper texts. To assess the reasoning, presumptions, and bias present in written texts, use online tests and guided discussions. When reading, evaluate the strength of arguments and use critical frameworks to separate opinion from fact. Provide their own responses based on careful consideration and analysis.📋
